A large group of electric utilities have joined with Plug In America and others to lobby the U.S. Congress to lift the existing per-manufacturer cap that could effectively raise prices on Tesla and GM plugin vehicles within the next year.
The utility coalition sent a letter to congressional leaders earlier this week urging them to lift the limit in order to protect jobs at American manufacturers and to continue promoting the growth of the EV industry. The companies collectively provide electricity in some 40 states.
