Volkswagen’s charging provider subsidiary, Electrify America, is scrambling to complete the first phase of its nationwide charging network.
This is the third in a series of articles that look at the company’s planned installations in various regions in the state.

Walmart
1301 N Victory Pl, Burbank, CA 91506
This highway location, with ten charging spaces, just opened within the past several days. Like some other recent site designs, there are two charging dispensers located in a separate spot alongside the handicapped parking area. There is better than usual signage indicating “no parking except while charging”.
Vons Supermarket
3233 Foothill Blvd, Glendale, CA 91214
This metro site will have three BTC Power 150 kW dispensers likely with a 240V J1772 stand.
Walmart
9001 Apollo Way, Downey, CA 90242
This is another metro site with three BTC Power 150 kW charging dispensers along with a 240V AC charging stand (visible in front the car in the photo below). Everything looks ready to go but the utility hasn’t installed the transformer yet.
Target
7530 Orangethorpe Ave, Buena Park, CA 90621
This looks like an excellent installation layout along the perimeter of the parking lot along the adjacent highway sound barrier next to the Target store. This highway site looks as if it will have eight charging spaces in a row with two located separately for better handicapped accessibility.

There is a major store remodeling job ongoing but no sign of the future charging area yet.
Plaza Del Sol Shopping Center
10950 Sherman Way, Burbank, CA 91505
This location is right next to the Burbank airport — charge your car while watching large jet planes landing weirdly close by.
Ralph’s Supermarket
1416 E Colorado St, Glendale, CA 91205
There is a suggestive storage container onsite now but no work has started yet.
Walmart
4651 Firestone Blvd, South Gate, CA 90280
